Jim Rourke has spent more than 30 years in quality engineering. He runs Essex Quality Engineering Services, working with manufacturers across Essex.

His career is built in automotive. He spent 30 years at Visteon, latterly as Quality Manager for the component supplier to a number of OEM’s, accountable for every aspect of quality. He then moved to Tenneco as a Quality Engineer, to CONTECHS supporting a programme to electrify a mining fleet, and to Product Assurance collaboration on spacecraft rocket engines.

He works to ISO 9001:2015, AS / EN 9100 and IATF 16949:2016, with experience in VDA 6.3, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO/IEC 17025. His methods cover FMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D, 5 Whys, fault tree and Ishikawa. He holds a BSc Honours in Metallurgy and Material Science from City of London Polytechnic.

Jim builds customer relationships from a low base, often under pressure, and turns them into trusted partnerships. You deal with one person from first call to closed action.
